Fine silver, for example 99.9% pure silver, is relatively soft, so silver is usually alloyed with copper to increase its hardness and strength.
Silver needs to be combined with other metals as it is very difficult to make great designs with just pure silver, which is very soft and malleable.
A bit of hardness has to be introduced, by adding other metals such as copper. This allows the jeweller to create intricate and complex designs with .925 Sterling Silver.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.
All of our products are .925 silver, mostly all other brands call their products silver, but this is just the colour.
If you look closely at the materials they use, the main material is normally stainless steel, which is extremely cheap, which is then coated with a small covering of a harder wearing material.
